MAMMOSCREEN partners get together at the 3rd in person Consortium Meeting in Toledo, Spain

Last 22 and 23 November 2023, all the partners, the members of the Scientific and Ethics Advisory Boards and Patient Advisory Group involved in the MAMMOSCREEN projects reunited for a meeting in person.

Partner SESCAM was the host and organizer of the meeting, which took place in the wonderful frame of Toledo, in the Castilla-La Mancha region of Spain.

The consortium was delighted to receive the visit of Jesús Fernández Sanz, Regional Minister of Health of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, who renovated his unconditional support to the project and underlined the importance of such EU-funded initiatives.

The meeting aimed at discussing the latest advances of the project, addressing potential issues, and agreeing on a shared vision and strategy for its further development.

The outlook on MAMMOSCREEN was very positive, as the project is proceeding swiftly and fulfilling the foreseen deliverables and milestones timely and with high-quality standards.
Some of the hottest topics were:

  • The upcoming approval of the clinical trial protocol in Italy and very soon in Spain, Portugal, Swiss and Poland.
  • Aspects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted screening methods, and implications for healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Health Technology Assessment of AI assisted screening methods.
  • The development of the patient-facing app: fulfilling patients and healthcare professionals needs via an iterative process.
  • Patient Advocacy and aspects related to effective communication to lay audiences.

The in person discussion has been fruitful and generated lots of ideas to further improve the outcomes of the project. All partners actively contributed to the discussion, and experts brought in their invaluable experience, essential to maximize the impact of MAMMOSCREEN on women and society in general.

This was also the right occasion to start the organization of the next in person meeting, hosted by partner EVITA, that will take place in Lisbon on 22 -24 of May 2024.

Expertise, organization, passion, and commitment will be pushing the project towards its future goals: go MAMMOSCREEN!
